As illustrated in the above diagram coaching can be provided within layers of leadership such as Executives, Middle, or Front line leaders. In this approach the coaching supports the development of an individual or a small team within the organization. Coaching can also be provided at multiple layers but with increased complexity as the focus shifts from individual development to team development to cultural development. Moving up and down or across this model will increase the outcomes associated with leadership coaching. And the more vertical activity combined with increased movement from left to right supports the shift from a culture of “me” to a culture of “we”. And with clearly defined cultural goals that start at the top and are supported down the desired culture can become an operational reality.
